Medusa MPE channel allocation

I’m thinking about buying a Medusa, not only because I’ve wanted one for a long time, but as a possible controller. One thing I would like to be able to drive with it is a Vermona Perfourmer. This isn’t an MPE synth, but it does allow you to set its four voices to different MIDI channels, meaning you can, for instance, have per-voice aftertouch &c.

So the question is: if I use the Medusa pads in MPE mode, how does it allocate MIDI channels? If it’s done so that, for instance, the first note held always gets channel 1, the second channel 2 & so on, then it will be very usable. But if it ‘round-robins’ channels it won’t work so well in MPE mode.

It may be that MPE specifies this, but I could not find it.

Thanks

Hey @tfb welcome to backstage!

You can actually assign MIDI channels and CC’s to the different axes (X,Y,Z) in the settings.
Or if you want to, you could even send everything to one channel and have X,Y,Z be different CC’s instead.

This should give you the flexibility you are looking for, i believe.
