Live Tape Machine turns any input into a living, unstable tape machine with 20 presets, ±3-semitone pitch, low-mid saturation, dropouts, motor drift, tape-stop behavior and three independent 20-second automation tracks for constantly evolving motion.

Description
Live Tape Machine is a high-quality real-time tape effect that processes the incoming signal immediately without recording or looping the audio itself. K1 selects 20 smoothly interpolated presets ranging from subtle master-tape coloration to severely damaged and unstable tape transports. K2 shifts pitch with fine resolution by up to ±3 semitones, while returning to the neutral position is confirmed by a blue LED for 500 ms. K3 shapes the central low-mid body with up to +14 dB of boost while progressively increasing saturation, distortion, mechanical instability and extreme tape behavior. The effect includes irregular pitch drops, stereo damage, dropouts, motor drift, azimuth-like movement and changing transport behavior without relying on obvious repeating modulation. Three independent automation tracks can each record up to 20 seconds of knob movement and can run simultaneously at different lengths, creating constantly changing combinations. A long footswitch press produces a two-second tape stop, while another long press brings the virtual machine back to its previous speed over two seconds.
Controls
| Control | Function |
|---|---|
| K1 | 20 tape presets, subtle → extreme; smoothly interpolated transitions of approx. 60 ms–1 s |
| K2 | Pitch −3 to +3 semitones, center = 0; blue LED for 500 ms at neutral |
| K3 | Low-mid body up to +14 dB, saturation, distortion and extreme intensity |
| Short Press – empty track | starts recording knob movements, max. 20 s |
| Short Press while recording | stops recording, starts playback and advances to the next automation track |
| 3 automation tracks | run simultaneously and can have different lengths up to 20 s |
| Double Press | deletes the currently selected automation track |
| Long Press | 2-second tape stop |
| Long Press again | 2-second tape start back to the previous speed |
| Important | No audio is recorded — only knob movements are looped |
