During live record we cannot “live” erase data on the current track.
Hold Backspace / Delete to erase note or inst etc. while in live record mode (like an erase head on a tape machine)
Press record twice and manually erase
TR606 is a good example of holding down the clear button while the step passes over, it is erased in stead of triggered.
You can use Undo to delete recently added notes in Live record mode.
And you can also manually delete notes.
Yeah, undo and manually aren’t as good as taking out a section and then playing in again or just scrubbing the whole thing if you’re not feeling it. The jam aspect of live record would be great if you could just erase on the fly imo. It’s not a must have, just a wish.
Im not sitting with the machine currently, while you are in Recording mode, you cannot jump to Song view and then just remove/wipe-out the undesired White-Block/track from there with delete?
Yes this might be a way, but for example, I am in live record mode I play in a 6 note sequence with the pads or a external keyboard and oops I don’t like the timing or notes for 3 of them in the middle. I want to just scrub those three on the next loop around and re pop them in the next time. Currently I (in my case) take my hands off the external keyboard and press record twice to get out of live play, find the notes and offs in question delete them then press play rec to get back to live mode. I got back to the keyboard and listen to the loop a few more time to try to remember what I wanted. If I’m very lucky I get it but often I mess it up and have to redo it or I need to have gone into play mode to find where I was and then back into live mode. In practice (for me) it means I either loose the notes or idea I had before wanting to erase, or it takes me an extra couple minutes to get back to what I could have accomplished in 2 loops of the sequence. Switching to song mode and scrolling across to delete the part and then go back also interrupts this workflow. I have not used the tracker + live, but this would amount of time and thinking and key pressing would stop me completely from using it in live mode at a show as by the time you are ready to fix the part its time to be changing to a new section or progression in the piece. Hope that makes sense.
