The chord follower setting is really great. What would it take to link multiple Synths together for more voices? Is this something that could be accomplished with a USB hub?
Audio interface. I thought usb hubs weren’t recommended.
Perhaps I was not clear. I meant link the two synths together so that the second device is all chord followers based on the first synth
Hm.. an actual “link” per se, that would give you additional voices to play, is not a feature.
But you could technically send midi from one synth to the other. As in:
- Connect two synths via MIDI (one way only)
- Load the same scenes on each
- Make sure the engines are mapped to eachother (as in engine 1 sends midi to engine 1 on the other device etc etc)
- Enabled Pad mapping on the other synth and offset the octaves
Obviously this means it will play the same notes as on the first device, except you could change the octave, root note and scale possibly.
This has me wondering though, if it would be difficult to implement a mode, that only sends midi once the active voices for an engine are exhausted.
For example:
- Engine one has 2 voices assigned
- You press two pads for that voice, they are played on Device 1
- Once you press the third pad for the engine, it would send it as MIDI instead to Device 2 that is connected via MIDI
I know it’s not a current feature but perhaps it could be.
The existing method you proposed is certainly appealing in its own way, thanks!
