I’ve read through the “8.7 Rendering and Exporting Internal Audio” of the user manual and I think I understand the available export options - they’re great & useful:
However, I think we’re missing something that’s particularly suitable for tracker paradigm, i.e. one where song or pattern stems are being exported per instrument. For example I often have kick & bass on one track, or melodic riffs which act in a call / response fashion. Or conversely - the same instrument used on different tracks, because that’s how I could only fit in in the pattern.
In such case it would be cool to have the stems separated by instrument, i.e. kick separate from bass, call riff separate from response riff, all instances of the same instrument together even if they’re placed on different tracks.
Consequently, audio over USB could have similar feature added, too.
Perhaps each instrument should have a flag that delineates whether we want to separate it for stem export / audio over USB? I can imagine it’s not always required (e.g. when using a chopped up drum loop, or chord progression samples).
