What is the problem?
Currently switching between Audio and MIDI tracks requires pressing Shift + Pattern, while the Pattern button alone shows patterns. In performance and composition workflows where users frequently alternate between editing audio and MIDI tracks within the same pattern, this creates unnecessary friction.
I propose an option to invert this behavior:
Pattern button: toggle between Audio and MIDI tracks
Shift + Pattern: open the Pattern view
What should this feature achieve?
This would allow faster switching between track types during sequencing, while still keeping access to the Pattern view with a modifier. For users who constantly move between audio and MIDI tracks before changing patterns, this small change would significantly improve workflow speed and reduce repetitive key combinations.
