I Promise you it will not let you down!
This one where I specified to make it easier but without demanding a very specific way because I know you guys can come up with something cool. we could easily request you to do it in a specific way that’s not really possible or not in line with your design and so that’s why I wanted to leave it up to you guys just figure out how to make it easier. You can run some ideas by us even – but you know anything will be better than the menu diving. @Mitch
Would it be accurate to state there is no audio over USB?
That is correct
Soon Black friday, any planned special price?
Seq per synth
Thanks. Is there midi transport out? The essentials manual pg 28, doesn’t show transport out. Only transport in.
Thanks. I have no glue, is the performance really that limited on these devices?
Thinking more about synth, audio over usb would be perfect, best solution. And a little generative sequencer ideas like random note and probability.
Yes it was confirmed in the CEO interview. Only data…
Waiting for mine to arrive (it have not yet been shipped and unfortunately I know that UPS (not a polyend fault) is so infamously slow to reach the mountains area where I do live…so luckily I’ll receive it next week I presume), said this, I saw the sequencer is pretty cool similar to the SH 101. But since we are so accostumed to use a sequencer as Polyend users it’s a pity there is not a pad based sequencer like in the Play… let’s see what happens…
Nothing in the MIDI settings at least:
hi, ist it possible to use all 3 synth with just on grid layout ( 1 pad pressed all 3 synth played together) ?
I’m sold on the device after initially complaining about lack of internal battery. I’m human and prone to not thinking clearly. Synth is perfect for someone like me. I’m not a keyboard player. This device will pair perfectly with the Play +. Oscillator Sink, Vulture Culture, Sandroid and even Polyend no talking video were big helps.
I’ve got to shut up about not having everything I want and just f’ng play!
Thank you for the life lessons!
How it works?
1 scene
1 synth = midi ch1
2 synth = midi ch2
3 synth = midi ch3
Only 3 scene per project? I can play only 3 synth together? And change patch by switching scenes? @Sandroid
In the manual there are references to MIDI Out, but only a specific mention to Clock data. What exactly is the Synth capable of sending as MIDI out? The notes of the three separate “parts” in separate MIDI channels? Is it possible to press the pads, turn the knobs, and send this information as MIDI out?
Think of scenes as a project or a template. And yes, each synth slots (1-3) can have a different engine or the same or whatever.
And yes, that means you can play up to 3 synth together.
You can change the patch loaded into an engine via MIDI CC Program Changes. Currently it allows you to define up to 7 different patches in a scene.
Each part can send out Midi Notes including velocity and polyphonic aftertouch.
So essentially you can send notes to 3 different channels at the same time.
Also local playback can be turned off per section. Example usecase:
- You sequence 1 section via Tracker (or any other external sequencer)
- You would like to use the pads of that section to triggers notes on another piece of hardware via MIDI but not trigger the internal synth.
The Knobs do send CC information, but always on MIDI Channel 1 and it depends on what screen you are. I’m not entirely sure what the logic is… but i’m guessing all the knob functions that are mappable for incoming CC also send outgoing MIDI CC?
Maybe @Mitch can clarify this
EDIT:
Quick test seems to confirm my suspicion. I still hope that Mitch will confirms this for us though.
But here’s my findings:
- Changing the ADSR Decay from an external controller would require you to send CC47 into the Synth.
- Going to the ADSR Section and changing the knob for the decay on the Synth, sends CC47 back out via MIDI
In the communities, people joke that they will wait for the second version of Synth+ to be released before placing an order.
Welcome to Backstage, kr3ativsein!
Nope. But it’s an obvious candidate for a wish.
You can, however, set them all to listen to the same MIDI channel and play them simultaneously with an external controller.
