I’ve really wanted ableton to release something like this, but sorta embellished and designed for single button shortcuts for all ableton features. encoders for parameter adjustment, jog wheels for transport controls etc. full arrangement view control. that kinda thing

Nordic layout?
Intech BU16 uses low profile hall effect switches for velocity and pressure, it feels amazing. Hope to see it in here too.
Are these switches hot-swappable? I mean, given the open source firmware, could technically be an option that a stock Polyend Keys can be turned into a community-based premium model by anyone buying and switching (pun intended) the switches themselves, and enabling some “magnetic mode” that someone else has contributed to the open source firmware?
I have two questions:
- Any plans for a ISO layout (seems to be ANSI atm)?
- Where there any discussions to make a 65 - 75% version?
if this has MIDI in, can I type emails with my MPC?

Emails in Morse code should be fine.
I wonder about the 9th knob on the right corner being turned into a slightly bigger rotary & clickable knob, as it is not unusual to find in custom mechanical keyboards. Unless all the knobs are clickable? Do they give you the value if you touch them?
Don’t let the numpad go to waste - should be optimised as pad replacement for drums and sampling. Backlight can also be useful if RGB to show status at a glance.
Dark color way could benefit from contrasting piano keys like the light model, and as a personal preference I would like light models grey keys swapped with white for a cleaner look.
As others have mentioned switch choice is crucial to make this more useful than a normal keyboard.
Happy to hear it’s in-browser software and not another desktop app running in background, assuming this saves profiles to device. Open-source firmware also great move but include basic API’s to customise too.
Looks like a cop for me.
Are these switches hot-swappable?
The method of activation is completely different. Mechanical switches have a leaf that completes a circuit when pressed. Magnetic switches have a sensor on the PCB that detects the magnetic field strength. They’re not interchangeable (though there have been a handful of keyboards designed to use both, there would be no benefit to doing so on this product).
fuck yeah! i’ve been imagining something like this for a long time. as someone who has a tiny desk (cos acoustics) and can’t comfortably fit a midi keyboard near me this seems like it might be very close to solving some problems 
i always wished the ableton push was just the top screen part (and didn’t have the whole pad thing attached to it) so i could essentially mount it to the top of my regular mechanical keyboard.
like just this bit (and honestly it could be even more minimal)
