Individual patterns for each track

What is the problem?

Patterns are made up of the sequences in every track. You can’t have separate patterns for each track.

What should this feature achieve?

It would be good to have track patterns separated so you can keep the pattern for one track and have a new pattern for another track. For example, track one can have pattern 1A in song view, while track two can have pattern 2A. Then in the next row, the user can reuse pattern 1A for track one, and track two can be pattern 2B. This would make writing songs easier when there are repeated patterns.

Are there any workarounds?

Copying and pasting the same sequence in a track in a new pattern. However if the user is making a song with a lot of repeated parts for one track, they would have to do this over and over, and use up a pattern slot.

I believe the Renoise tracker works like this.

Hey there @junemqqn, welcome to Backstage. Great to have you join us here!

If I’m reading your wish correctly, you are looking for something similar to the functionality in the Performance mode where you can choose any pattern per track, but have that applied globally?

Hi Dan, yes that’s what I’m asking for. To be honest I didn’t know this was something you could do in performance mode as I’ve never used it, but it would be good to have the ability to sequence this out in song mode.

It would be absolutely fantastic to have this feature in Song mode.
