What is the problem?
When going to the next pattern (via the “Next Pattern”-footswitch or a Midi Controller), the current pattern runs all the remaining steps before it jumps to the next pattern. This makes the step act very static, especially in a live-situation.
What should this feature achieve?
It would be fantastic, if the step would allow for immediate pattern change via the “Next Pattern”-footswitch or a Midi Controller. That way the user could perform (especially in a jam/improvisation-context) much more lively and spontanously. I guess, this feature would appeal especially for guitar players and other musicians, that have an experimental, post-/krautrock aproach (like me).
Are there any workarounds?
It is possible to change the patterns immediately by pressing the pattern-buttons on the step by hand. This doesn´t work when standing and having the step at your feet.
But this (theoretical) workaround shows, that in general it is possible to change the patterns on the step immediately. If this function could also be assigned to the foot switch, the problem would be solved.
