hi ive got anplay plus and a usb midi keyboard korg mikrokey . if imwant to connect the korg to the play i need something like a usb host or hub idk to power the korg and the play and connect them both together . i found some in the internet but maybe some users had the same problem and could share which one they bought and if everything works fine with what they chose to buy .
sidenote:if polyend would offer such a thing or produce it by her own or recommend one of their favor it would be a good thing cause maybe im not the only one who is looking for something like this
I would look for something that powers your Korg and sends midi out via 5 pin or 3.5 and connect to the Play via midi and power the Play separately for a good working experience.
Just my personal preference. Perhaps someone has something they can share that is what you are looking for. Try it out. If you run into issues, see my opening statement.
yeah i got a normal midikeyboard too with din midi connections and that works with the play perfectly , but i want tje mikrokey cause its so small and fun to play but it only has one usb connection and the play too so i need a usb hub or host between these two
A lot of sound cards can do midi hosting pretty well, and if you want to put an iPad or computer in the mix, that’s what I’ve been liking the most–and since I use it for post-processing & effects (e.g., the Zoom L6 is great for small and portable set-up).
But you’ll also find direct midi host options; CME does a lot of great options, though almost too many to choose from depending on if you want DIN, wifi, and/or bluetooth.
I like this one personally if I were to need more connections. Optional bluetooth connection is pretty good.
Also, remember to understand your trs 1/8" from polyend is usually midi-B (the included dongle), so need to convert through a DIN cable to get back to midi-A trs 1/8".
