How to mute synths on T+ or mini?

On the master mixer page there is no mute button for the T+ synths but there is for everything else.

I want to record my track but mute the synths for this recording, obviously I could turn them down, however I don’t want to lose my volume settings.

I settled on turning polyphony to zero.

There must be a better way? Every other sound on the master mixer has a mute switch, why not the synths ? Seems odd …

You can mute the corresponding tracks in pattern view or master view. Synth is a sound source like a sample. You also cant mute individual instruments.

Yeah that’s true about pattern view, forgot about that.

Would be nicer to have a mute on the mixer this for the synths

What do you mean by master view?

The mixer [master button]. You can mute the channels for the tracks there too. They dont display gain but are still muting the signal

set the polyphony to zero.

but you already do that. ignore me

Filed a bug report for the ui inconsistency.

Thank you! You explained it well

It still seems inconsistent to me because having separate inputs for the synths on the master mixer view means they are not like other instruments (which are part of the dry mix). They behave more like external midi synths that feed back their audio via separate “line ins” so why not also have a mute for those inputs.

@retro_frog I already filed a bug report, look at the post above. Agree with inconsistency. Audio as signal and midi/synth as velocity should give a consistent visual feedback to the user.
Regarding mute buttons: then you actually SEE the signal on the corresponding tracks where you also can mute them.
