Hi and welcome to the backstage, a quick question that the Polyend Team can replicate your issue.

  1. Does it happen when you run it with the internal battery or the included power supply?
  2. Is a mic plugged in when you experience the issue?
  3. Wich mic are you using?
  4. Is anything else connected to your tracker mini?

And an additional question: does it happen with the non-beta firmware as well? (i assume it does, but might still be good to know)

Hello! I always run it with the battery and it’s not a deal breaker for me, but wanted to sample external sounds. I haven’t tried the line in yet. I tried a pair of Sony MDR 7506 headphones, just in case it was my Bose headphones with a T/R/R/S. Same noise on all settings, both sets of headphones, and I also downgraded from the Beta firmware 2.1.0 to Version 2.0.2. I still got the same noise.

Interestingly, and it may have nothing to do with it, but I was able to get the noise to stop when I raised the gain to 60ish and dropped it rapidly down with the D pad, then it goes away for a split second when the gain hits 40. After that split second, the noise is back.

I tried recording with the noise over the weekend and it’s in the recording, so I deleted it.

Thanks for the help!

Yes, it makes the high pitched noise with the Firmware 2.0.2 on all screen settings too.

Fine, no groundloop then.

Ah, so you have tried to record with the built-in mic then. This little guy here:

Again, you plugged the headphones into the line out (the Sony one is a trs studio headphone, the Bose has a headset mic.) So regardless of the headphones, you get noise from the built in mic of tracker mini when recording. Right?

Okay, firmware doesnt matter.

When you have time, make a short recording of the noise, it could be helpful for the support team when tracking down your issue.

Thanks so much for the detailed description!
In your case it might be a hardware fault, so please write a mail to support@polyend.com so they can assist you further.

Hi @phaudio , sorry you’re having issues with the Mini. Please send us the audio files of your mic recordings so we have better idea of the issue you’re experiencing, as it can be quite subjective. Thank you for your support and patience.

Hello again! It was a long day, so apologies for the delayed response. Also the quick and dirty audio examples. I did the three screen resolutions with the external mic in the Beta Firmware and the Version 2.0.2 with 40db of preamp.

Attached on a previous post are the files, but since I wasn’t sure if this was going to Polyend, I attached them again.
