As an old-school “tracker” I obviously went for the hexadecimal mode, but I was wondering what you guys (& girsl) are using?
BTW, kudos to the developers for including it - it’s fantastic!
- Hex
- Dex

Even back on Protracker i used decimals, so i just went automatically back to that
I used both, hex with fast tracker, dec with buzz (the fx slots were hex and 4 bit)
Same as Protracker then. Had no idea.
Steps, Patterns, Sample/File lenghts could be in Dec but Commands/FX were always Hex.
Ah cool! Efficient to save space for larger numbers. Even more with the 4 digits 4 bit thing.
I remember always typing f7 ALL IN!
Hmm, I think in ProTracker everything was in powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, etc.) and musically a bar is - usually - 16 steps, so hex also made sense there. And it saved space on screen.
But with Tracker +/Mini I see lots (most?) of stuff is 0-99, so maybe going decimal makes more sense?
I’ll have to experiment back & forth with it. I mean it’s not like I’m TYPING “F” instead of “16” which would save me on key presses - it takes the same number of pressing “+” or turning the dial to get from 8 to 16/F.
