Maybe this already exists, so apologies if it does but I can’t find it in the manual. I’d like to be able to use different track names on a per-pattern basis on my tracker mini. The reason is that I’m making songs with more than 8 audio parts, but obviously not all 8 have to play at once. For example, the tune I’m working on at the moment has a piano part on a few patterns, but on others it doesn’t. Now I’ve named this track Piano, but there are other loops I’d like to use on this track in the patterns where the piano isn’t being used. I know I could name the track “keys” or something, but it would be really nice to call track 2 “piano” in the patterns where piano is playing, and “pluck” if there was a synth pluck loop on track 2.
this is cool in theory but i would also hate to have to name a track 10-15 times across 10-15 patterns so there would have to be a way to still have a global one.
First of all, no you didn’t miss anything that is indeed not possible. Tracks are named globally throughout the entire song. It’s only patterns that can be named on a per pattern basis.
I also agree with @nate that this sounds like a lot of work
But if you feel this could be something others might wish for as well, you are more than welcome to create a wish in Draft wishes!
Thanks for the reply. I’ve realised that my idea wouldn’t work when you switch to song mode. Still a newbie to the tracker. Btw I’m enjoying the mini so much I’ve ordered the tracker plus for use at home. The mini makes my OP1 Field seem way overpriced compared to what I can do on the mini.
