Granular Sample Playback Mode

Expand the Play’s sample playback capabilties by adding a granular sample playback mode, like on the Tracker.

What is the problem?

Currently sample playback is limited to straight forward playback or reverse playback.

What do you want to achieve?

Have more sample playback options.

Are there any workarounds?

one way to fake it:

  • add multiple samples on the same track
  • adjust their start/end points
  • set high playback speed with some random playback order
  • adjust reverb to your taste
  • you can even make some variations to change the sound’s character on the fly later
  • profit

cons:

  • it uses the whole track
  • everything is made by hand and cannot be automated

Well… let me explain then :blush::

  • If you want a wish to actually be considered. It will have to be properly created / formatted.
  • Afterwards, Polyend will decide if they consider this a feature worth implementing or if it fits their product vision.
  • Once accepted, it will be opened for public voting

That’s why it is better to create individual wishes per feature.

Keep in mind. I’m just a Moderator and not an official Polyend employee. We just want to make it as easy as possible for Polyend to scout requests.

Gotcha thanks for pointing this out … I also saw that the looping feature is allready requested … sO i will rewrite this at any given moment …

Drooped the MIDI LFO request … as each step can be an independent midi ch … so it wasn’t realistic

Hey @UnReAl , i’ve updated your wish.
I usually go through wishes and check wording/phrasing, and do some slight alteration to keep it short, sweet and to the point.

Hope that still reflects your initial intention. :blush:

all in all, I wouldn’t expect much more than what we have now.
