When controlling the Granular Position by LFO, sample playback remains stuck at the origin of the sample for a while before following the LFO curve. Instead, the expected behavior would be that the LFO curve is applied as soon as the sample is played.
Reproduction Steps
[Sample Loader] Load a sample, preferably a long one to better see the issue
[Sample Playback] Set the play mode to “Granular”
[Instrument Parameters] (page 2/2) Set “Granular Position” to “LFO” > “Saw” > “32 steps”
[Sample Playback] Press a long note on the grid pad and watch the play head remain stuck at the beginning for a little while
Hi @weisst, Thank you for reporting this bug. We are sorry you’re experiencing issues while using the Tracker+. We will do our best to resolve it and notify you when it’s ready.
Hey @weisst , would you be able to confirm where you have the granular position set on the instrument and what the depth of the LFO is? This sounds like the granular position is set too close to the start of the sample or the lfo depth is too high for the granular position.
I’m afraid I’ve returned my Tracker+ a while back. Thinking more about the issue, the problem was maybe that the LFO is bipolar and starts with negative values, leading to the play head being stuck at the origin until the LFO crosses the zero mark?
Yep, that’s exactly it. You need to set the granular position on the instrument page in the middle of sample to achieve the result you were looking for. You can see an example of this around the 1min mark of this tutorial. Not a bug but just a function of how the LFO is designed.
Sorry that I didn’t see this earlier. Could have saved you some headache.
