Games Won't Work On Tracker OG

Bug Description

Trying to run any NES roms, including stock ones, gives a black screen.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Turn on the tracker;
  2. Press “Files”;
  3. Press “Games”;
  4. Run AlterEgo or any other compatible NES rom.

Occurrence

The bug is reproducible always starting from firmware 1.7.1 at least. The games would run as expected on 1.6.0.

Hi @leviqsupernova! Thank you for reporting this bug. We are sorry you’re experiencing issues while using the Tracker. Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce this issue. All the stock games run as expected on the latest 1.8.0 firmware.
Please, follow these steps:

  1. Make a backup of your projects, samples, etc.
  2. Format the card (the format needs to be FAT 32 MBR)
  3. Download the SD card content from our website
  4. Update to the 1.8.0 firmware
  5. Try running the stock games and let me know if they work

Yeah you’re right
I had a load of games that used to work, they stopped working with 1.7 / 1.8
but the stock games on the download do work fine on 1.8…
I like the new keypad layout too

I changed my Games folder to the one from the factory content and the games work now for some reason. Didn’t check any side ROMs, but the stock is fine.
