Description

Hey y’all.

I tried one of the classics and created this Fliptone VTX, inspired by the legendary Guyatone Flip Tube Tremolo pedal - as seen on Justin Chancellor’s pedalboard.

I’ve gone into specifics with the volume swells, finding a smooth curve for the tremolo, then the tube crackle kicks in with the volume swells. Switch selects Slow / Fast modes, and you can hear the ramp of the wave when switching. Long press is the melting mode, which pushes the tube even more.

It’s mono, full wet. Use the Dry / Wet adjustment to taste.

Let me know how it sounds. Cheers!

Description

The tremolo is bias-style: the LFO moves the tube stage’s gain and bias together, so the tone and grit change with the pulse, not just the volume. The deepest setting never cuts out completely.

  • Knob 1 (X): Speed – How fast the tremolo pulses; the switch picks a slow or fast range.
  • Knob 2 (Y): Intensity – Depth of the throb, from a gentle shimmer to a deep, square chop.
  • Knob 3 (A): Tone – Darker to brighter, flat at noon.
  • Short press: Slow / Fast range, gliding smoothly between them (LED yellow for Slow, red for Fast).
  • Long press: Emphasis on/off: a hotter tube, a forward midrange and a deeper, choppier throb (LED green for Slow, blue for Fast).
