Finger drum mode not activated when using external transport start

Bug Description

With the Play+ as the follower and the transport started from the leading device, the tracks configured to “Pads” do not activate until the user rotates through the audio and synth/midi sides of the device.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure the Play to receive midi clock and transport in on the Midi Jack In, with a leading device set to control the clock and transport of the Play+
  2. Fill a track with samples, notes, etc
  3. Under track speed, set the track to Pads
  4. Start the sequencer from the external device and notice that the Pads do not change from white to orange.
  5. Press Shift+Patterns (Audio/Midi) twice to rotate between the two sides of the device.
  6. The Pads are now activated and ready to play

Occurrence / Frequency

Always

Hi @Origami_Poltergeist , thanks for reporting this issue, and sorry you’re having problems with your device. I was able to reproduce this bug. It’s worth noting that the pads are actually activated and fully functional — it’s just the color change that isn’t working as expected. Once you press a pad in the section set to Track Speed / PADS, all the other pads in that section change color.

We’ll keep you updated if we find a fix for this. Thanks a lot for your support! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the reply and testing it out! Ill go back and check if I did something weird, cause the last time I tried to use it, my synth side pads wouldnt work til after the switch. Wouldn’t be the first time I missed something lol

Hey, I just loaded up the project that was giving me issues and you were on the money with it. I’m not quite sure what I was tripping over the night I ran into the issue, but it works just as you have described. I can either edit the post to reflect the pads simply not lighting up or you all can delete this post. Thanks again for double checking this for me, sometimes it’s hard to see the mistake glaring at us in the face without a little help from others😊

Glad I could help! :slightly_smiling_face: No need to edit or delete the post — let’s just leave it as it is. This way it’ll help us later on to understand the issue better, and it might also be useful for other users.
