FAT Synth engine is missing on my Play+ (solved RTFM)

Updated firmware to 1.0.1 - only just twigged that the FAT Synth is missing from my options.

Checked the SD Card and the Finder shows the patches are there - any one else experienced this?
Any solutions to enabling missing Synth Engines?

Hi, I don’t think you’re missing anything, it’s just that you can only have three of the four synthesizers active at a time. Try clicking on one of those slots and see if it lets you select it.

yea go into any one of em and you can change it

Doh, yes. Thanks.

From a discoverability / UX perspective, it would be nice to see all available engines listed in the ‘Synths’ menu, with */marks next to the active ones :smile:

I think that’s happened to most people at some point (including myself) :sweat_smile:

Yep, I’ve been there as well!

There’s a fine line between user error and “fix the UX please” :joy:

You’re not wrong :slight_smile: Like listing all the synths, and then have the brackets showing which slot they’re in, including perhaps an (unassigned). Something like;

VAP (Synth 1)
ACD (unassigned)
WTFM (Synth 2)
WTFM (Synth 3)
FAT (unassigned)

We’ve all been there :slight_smile: I think what causes this confusion is that the number of slots and engines are almost the same, but not exactly the same. If there were 100 engines, it would probably be more obvious that what’s listed is the 3 slots and their currently selected engine.
