Endless: No audible effect at all, even after factory reset + factory content — hardware failure?

Running into something that’s stumped me and support hasn’t resolved yet.

Setup: SM57 mic → impedance matcher → Endless input, output → clean PA. Same physical chain I’ve used successfully for weeks of testing.

Symptom: Bypass and “effect engaged” sound identical. No difference at all, on any patch.

What I’ve ruled out:

A custom SDK effect I’d been developing — reverted to an earlier build I’d personally confirmed working hours earlier; same symptom.
Custom code entirely — loaded Polyend’s own stock/factory effect; still no difference between on and off.
Full factory reset (held both footswitches while applying power) — no change.
Physical chain — unchanged from setups that were working correctly earlier the same day.
Full power cycle, cable reseating.
Given a factory-reset unit running Polyend’s own factory content still shows zero processing difference, this looks like it’s pointing at the unit itself rather than anything in my custom code.

Questions for anyone who’s seen this:

Is there a known failure mode matching “engaged/bypass produce identical output” — bypass relay, input stage, DSP fault?

Is the button-hold-at-power-on combo I used actually the documented factory reset for Endless specifically, or could it have put the unit into a different mode (firmware recovery/DFU) that isn’t running the normal audio engine?

Already been through Sweetwater support without resolution (they offered replacement), and haven’t heard back from Polyend directly yet. Appreciate any insight!
