Encoder dial slipping!

The main encoder dial on my Play+ will sometimes slip (rotating one degree or click on the dial does not always move or adjust the parameter, or move the selection when browsing files, menus, etc) requiring 2 turns or clicks to move just 1 degree or parameter value.

Anyone else experience this, and is this a hardware or software issue? (i am running the latest firmware)

thanks

same here - should I send the Play+ to Thomann?

Hey hey both of you :waving_hand:

I’ve got to ask - the dial/encoder has “notches”, yes?
When you start the Play+ is the dial in between the “notches”?

The behaviour you mention i’ve only noticed when i start the device and the dial is accidentally between those.

it takes about 24 clicks to rotate the encoder 360deg. You are asking if it happens to be stuck at a half value when booting up? (i.e. halfway between 1 and 2 for example)? That seems unlikely, since it’s such a miniscule space…

yes, that’s exactly what i meant. it is indeed hard to get it “stuck” in between but not impossible.
but when you boot it up like that, its the only time when i notice the behaviour described.

if you got it all the time, you might want to get in touch with customer support. They’ll take good care of you :hugs:

I tried this to make sure, but it didn’t correct the behavior. Still slips, regardless of position when booting…
