DIY accessories (electronic, 3D, laser)

Hi everyone !

Firstly, forgive my english. And secondly, I’m an happy owner of an Polyend Tracker for few days now !

I already made a 3D stand (30°) to it, and I have multiple DIY ideas. I plan to develop and edit this topic with what I made and progress. To do it clearly, you’ll see in first the list of the projet, then the explanations of each project, the progress and finally the questions I have and recommendations you may give. For now, I only have 3 main projects.

Projects :

  • Modular stand : project
  • All-in-one bar : project
  • Modular controller : project

Explanations :

  • Modular stand : a 3D printed / laser cut modular stand, where I can fit synth in, like TD3, monologue desktop and I hope one day a Polyend play !
  • All-in-one bar : I plan to make a rear bar for the tracker, perfectly fitting the output / input layout. I plan to have dual USB C, MIDI DIN input, 4 MIDI DIN Output (somekind of a thru box), mic / line in / line out 6.35mm stereo.
  • Modular controller : I plan to develop an USB / midi controller, which can be modular with knob, faders and maybe pads. I think it’ll be one of the latest project.

Progress :

  • Modular stand
  • All-in-one bar
  • Modular controller

Questions and recommandations

  1. For them who have Tracker and tracker PLUS or tracker and play (+), does the rear connector layout are axectly the same ? I will measure mine and make a plan, and if we can compare it would be great !
  2. Does someone have a detailed tracker 3D model ? I can find some, but not very detailed… If not, I’ll make it !

Thanks for the read, and have a nice day !
Sincerely,
Boutiquier.

Hi Boutiquier,

Great post, i thought id say hi as I have designed and printed stands for so much stuff! Fusion 360 is awesome. Ive made a ton of different midi controllers, I prefer using teensy 4.1’s for midi/usb things as it has usb ready to go (supports usb hubs with little extra work) and the teensy sdk (not sure its called that) is super deep and covers nearly everything, makes setting up midi and usb midi really quick, i originally wrote ios and macos midi apps, i guess i like the teensy libraries as they are super similar in use. It would be super easy to split midi output over 2 din midi outputs if you needed to. Also works well with many types of screen. Good luck with your projects, i look forward to seeing what you come up with.
