Display which Instrument is featured on which Patterns

What is the problem?

As a user it is difficult to recall / remember what Patterns may feature which Instruments in their sequence.

For example, if the user does a lot of work with sound design and layering, they may want to be mindful of the Instrument slots available and render multiple Instruments into a single file, to be sliced and re-sequenced using a single Instrument slot.

In this case the user may find it difficult to locate which Patterns feature the Instruments that need to be re-sequenced on a new Pattern for Rendering and re-sequencing on the original Patterns.

What should this feature achieve?

A screen - probably pretty simple in UI terms, that shows the Instrument searched for and the Patterns that Note triggers were located.

Are there any workarounds?

Any links to related discussions?

Any references to other products?

I’m thinking this could look similar to the Song Mode? But instead be a search?
Or a search mode within the Song mode?

Thanks for the wish!

I think it would ideally be able to search across all Patterns. Just to make sure the user can get all of the Parterns where there Instrument is triggered.

But a Song Mode filter could be useful to constrain the results to what could be the most useful information.

Yeah, now that i understand what you are trying to accomplish, i agree.
Especially since some people tend to use far out patterns (towards the end of the possible) as like templating patterns and stuff.

So a more Grid like list, may be preferable (Top left to Bottom right) ?

Absolutely. Starting with 001 in the upper left, going sequentially downwards until it reaches some maximum position and starting over in the next column.

I tend to use far out patterns myself - grouping things in number by structure (ie: intro segments are 10-19, next is 20-29, whatever next is 30-39 etc…)
