Default sound parameters for new pattern generation?

Hiya.

Scenario:

  • I generate a pattern across different tracks using the beat generator - so have a kick, hi-hat, snare on different tracks.
  • I tweak the instruments on each track - e.g. to change the sample of the kick, the reverb send of the hi-hat track, etc.
  • I copy pattern 1 to pattern 2.
  • On pattern 2 I want to generate a new kick, with the same instrument parameters for that track.
  • When I generate the new kick pattern, it defaults to set parameters, which are different.

What’s the easiest way to avoid this/make sure the kicks etc are all the same across those patterns?

I am sure this is a very easy thing but it’s been a while…

FWIW I have tried copying the step I want to use for the pattern gen for the kick pattern by holding a relevant pad for 1 second to have it blink and create a ‘work step’, but this doesn’t appear to be respected in the generation.

It’s not the most elegant solution, but you can touch an encoder to bring up its value, and double tap the screen button to bring its default value. Somewhat time consuming, but it gets you were you want to go

This is something there isn’t really a workaround for. Would love the option to use work step for any type of fill, yes.

Funny was thinking that as well when responding. Like maybe Master Volume could be used to set all parameters to default (with a warning screen)

The manual suggests that work step should be respected for fill mode, which doesn’t seem to be happening.
