Hello there.
I’d like some advice on connecting an Akai LPD8 MIDI controller to the OG Tracker.
My issue is one of connectors. The LPD8 is a bit old and uses a USB A to mini USB cable.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get them talking (or at least the OG listening)?
Thanks in advance.

Do you have a pic of the usb port on the LPD8? I’ve looked online, but they seem to be using Standard USB-B type although it seems there are a couple revisions that were done.
Thanks for getting back to me.
I could well be wrong with my USB nomenclature, sorry for any confusion.
The Mini USB plugs into the LPD8.
If you want to connect both devices without a computer you need a usb midi host.
USB Host MIDI Interface Two MIDI In and two MIDI Out (5-pin DIN), One USB-A MIDI host connection with up to eight inputs and outputs (expandable via standard USB hub), One USB-C client connection with four inputs and outputs, Four LED indicators,...
Akai lpd8 over usb to midi host, tracker over trs midi b to midi host.

Thanks for the picture. Unfortunately from my understanding USB Mini-B doesn’t map to 5 pin MIDI and seems that conversion cables do not exist.
With that said, there might be some old USB MIDI hosts that have this as a connection.
