I tried to connect the synth with FLstudio via usb but there are no signs of connection, I also tried with ableton following the guide in the manual and the same thing happens as if nothing was connected, while if I connect any other device like tr-8s, edge… it works perfectly!
where can i find a step by step guide to set up the synth and the DAW?
my connection:
Synth:
Clock In MIDI in USB
Transport in MIDI to USB
OFF
OFF
I also tried MIDI in JACK but it doesn’t work…
Thanks
Hey welcome to Backstage @emanupor! Great to have you here
You settings look good. You’ll also have to go into Main Menu (press the screen encoder) and go to “Synth” and make sure the "MIDI I/O is set to the proper MIDI connection and channel.
To be clear, you want to use FLstudio/Ableton to control the Synth, and not the other way around right?
No you only need to have one or the other. Just be sure to choose the proper setting
I would like to use the PC as a sequencer because I don’t like the synth one (the pauses have to be done manually…) (please fix this in the next update)
if i connect any external instrument without any kind of setup by pressing any key the midi light comes on in both FLstudio and Ableton
but when I connect the synth, the DAWs see it, but when I press the pads, even if I configure it as you can see below nothing lights up, as if it’s not connected!
could the midi communication be broken? Or is some step missing?
my setup:
MIDI:
Clock In MIDI to USB
Transport in MIDI to USB
OFF
OFF
Synths:
Midi I/O Midi I/O Midi I/O jack #1 jack #2 jack #3
local mode
off …
Setup in Ableton as pictured in the user manual
i tried on 2 different pc’s i tried changing usb cables but nothing…
The example above has you using USB in the MIDI settings, but MIDI jack on the Synths. Either Put your MIDI I/O to USB if you’re using USB, or Put your MIDI Settings to Jack if you’re using the Physical MIDI In. That should do the trick.
