When I open a preset, often alot of sequencer steps are filled with parameter locks. When I disable a step and then re-enable, the param locks are still there, correct? Is there any way to clear the param locks? I’ve read through the manual and could not find it.
Hi @sbookholt, welcome to Backstage! Great to have you join us here! Off the top of my head I don’t recall if there is a way to do so. I know there is a shortcut for this on the Play but not sure about the MESS. I will look this evening when I’m back home
Hi Dann, thanks for the reply. After playing some more I think I now know how it works.
When the sequencer is empty (but running) the currect fx is muted.
When activating a sequencer step, it locks in the current values from page 1.
So when adjusting the params, nothing seems to happen until you lock in another step. I’m used to the elektron type of workflow so this confused me a bit. I think the concept of an enabled sequencer step without a lock (so it always uses the currently dialed in value) is not possible on the mess
Yes, you have that 100%! My understanding was that you were looking for a shortcut to set parameters to their default values. I do not believe that this exists. Probably the easiest way to do this is to switch to another effect, and then switch back to the effect you were originally using. This should work for parameters that are not shared, so mostly those on page 1.
Hope that helps!
I’ll just swipe the steps with my finger to reset them, I like the setting that keeps the sequence when changing fx. Lots of happy accidents this way
I can work with it now I understand how it works. Thanks for thinking along!
