I’m getting started with my Synth, using firmware 1.0.1 and when I record a sequence using a Minor scale, the b6 notes get played back as 5ths. (5ths I record are unchanged) It’s like it’s playing back using a minor pentatonic scale instead of the 7 note minor scale. All 3 synths are in Note mode and I’m triggering from root notes only. Since the scale is set globally at the grid level, I don’t see how it could be using another scale. synth
This is bizarre behavior. A new twist: today I returned to the scene that was playing back differently than I recorded and the error shifted! This time the b6s were correct but the 5ths were flatted - playing back as the tritone instead. I changed the grid scale from minor to chromatic and it didn’t change the playback. I re-recorded one of the sequences and it maintained the behavior of playing back the 5ths a semitone low.
So now I would say there are two issues; sequence playback differs from input, AND sequence playback can change over time to a saved sequence. (there has got to be a bug here somewhere) Bug Beta Bug
You should edit this and put it in the bug / beta bug categories.
Update; today the 5ths and 6ths are playing as intended, but the 3rds are playing as major 3rds instead of minor 3rds. One of the two sequences I recorded doesn’t use 3rds, so it sounds right, but the other is wrong in yet another different way. I tried rerecording the sequence and it had no effect. Also tried recording some simpler sequences in the third channel (synth 3) and it had the same issue with 3rds being raised, the 2nds also may have been low, I’m not positive. Like the pattern 1-2-3-2-1 on the minor scale sounded more like 5-6-7-6-5 of the harmonic minor. I’m quite curious to understand how this can happen. If I were to try to program this behavior, I could only think of using the datestamp as an input!
Update: I got new firmware, version 1.1.0 (1620) and unfortunately the sequencer issue I am having persists. I recorded a video showing the problem; playback of the recorded sequence is quite different than the notes that were programmed.
Seems like you set a different root note and scale. From the manual, you can configure them per synth and globally. From what it sounds its set to pentatonic.
Sorry you are having this issue, hard for me to tell what is going on here. If possible could you add the project file and global settings here?
I just tried to upload the settings file from the scene I created, but the file type is not allowed, it seems. Were you able to see the video thru the link? I will try to share what you want, but I may need more specific how-tos. Thanks. I am pretty sure the scale is set to Minor. It plays as a minor scale when no sequence is recorded, and it sounds right as I record it.
I saw the video but having the project would be the fastest way to tell whats going on, sorry. You should be able to .zip it and post it here or DM it to me. Or email it to support@polyend.com
Actually I think this might be a known bug - “Seq not playing correctly when switched back to Note from Chord Pack”. So hopefully an easy fix! If you reload your song and try the seqeunce will it work?

Here is the zipped settings file for the scene. I read about the known bug, and was hopeful that the 1.1.0 firmware update (from 1.0.1) would fix, but it did not fix my issue. Thanks for your help!
Well, it started behaving properly since last weekend. I guess the new firmware must have fixed the bug, but the first time I tried the new firmware it didn’t. Maybe something reloading finally got it cleared up. Thanks for your help!
Okay, great glad it was resolved! Let us know if it happens again.
