What is the problem?
First off I love this product, but its a bit hard to find support for non-electronic “basic” sounds, both in the beats and in the kits.
From a beats perspective it would be nice to have a “basics” section with some very common beats to either use as-is (even just for practice) or use as a starting point for creating other beats
From a kits perspective, the kits are amazing but it can be tough to locate something like a closed hihat or cymbal splash. Whether you sell it separately or include it I think it would be a good addition, especially if it were focused on a variety of “real” drum sounds. I love love love a lot of the electronic sounds such as the 808 and 909, but dont have too much use for some of the most electronic stuff like techno, glitch, etc on a regular basis.
Being able to either switch those kits out for some more traditionally associated with guitarist would be useful
That said, it is also super cool to have a bunch of fresh sounds so i still appreciate the range of sounds already included.
What should this feature achieve?
Right now I find myself falling back to another drum machine (boss RC-10R, which is also a looper so useful regardless) to dial in readily available beats and kits associated with rock, funk, soul, etc. It should make that less necessary. I also think this addition would broaden the appeal for a lot of guitarists, and likely could be assembled without too much work from available midi and drum sample libraries.
You might even be able to subcontract it for a revshare on sales if its sold separately.
I’ve noticed also (I think) that some of the included beats seem to have additional nuance to them that is more than a basic user would know how to program so it would also result in users who are looking to have the basic beats covered as part of a drum machine purchase to get a fairer idea of what the step can do.
Are there any workarounds?
