Beat Slice – Padgrid chopping

What is the problem?

Polyend Tracker can only auto slice, equal slice or manually adding, but it still doesn’t feel natural or initiative.

What should this feature achieve?

User press the first pad from the gridpad and the first slice point is added, while the audio file keeps playing. User press gridpad 2 at a desired point and new slice point is added, user can then keep doing this to the end of the sample.

Afterward the user can adjust/fine-tune the points.

If all the chops are not satisfying, user can overwrite by re-initiate padgrid chopping.

Are there any workarounds?

How about this wish instead?

Let me know if you want to continue with yours

apples and oranges, but both fruit so only partly related, please continue

This topic is with the mind-set of improving the chopping functionality. I think this is also how most modern samples, workstations and groovebox-devices can chop nowadays, if they have pads.

The topic, which you linked is with the mind-set of building instruments with the sampler recorder and somehow get it sliced automatically.

I expected sample chopping to work like this, I bet we all have loads of samplers, hitting a pad where you want a slice is the nicest way to do it. Fingers crossed this makes it in.

Yeah, guess most of us are spoiled by the new technology.

I remember chopping on a E-mu SP-1200, where you copy the same sample to example 4 pads and truncate the sections with numbers.
