Audio out only on right side initially

Bug Description

When switching on the Tracker Mini, using headphones only the right stereo channel is active, after further investigation I find the screen brightness set to low and medium levels allow a cracking left channel to be heard, this situation eventually resolves and normal stereo playback is resumed after several minutes, usually on the high screen brightness first, then the lower settings.

Steps to Reproduce

After leaving the unit off for 30 to 60 minutes the initial sound is only heard from the right stereo channel.

Occurrence / Frequency

Always

Hi there @knewspeak and welcome to backstage! Great to have you here

I am unable to reproduce this issue. Would it be possible to share a project that is showing this behaviour? That will help a lot to troubleshoot this issue.
Thanks!

The problem is happening on any project I test, from initial startup of the Tracker Mini for approximately 2 minutes no sound is heard on the right hand side of my headphones (I’ve also used several different ones), then slowly first pops and crackles can be heard on the left side these increase in amount eventually resolving to normal output after a further 3 minutes, taking a total of approximately 5 minutes to playback normally.

The screen brightness seems to affect this especially Low and Medium settings, on high you get no sound on the left side for about 5 minutes.

Hope this helps, thanks.

Sorry above I meant no sound on the left hand side.

Thanks for sharing those details.

Any chance you could record the audio output of this occurring and share it here?

I’ve just tried to upload a .wav file I’ve just recorded from the line out, but it wouldn’t let me add the attachment, thanks.

This is the error, Sorry, new users can not upload attachments.

Hey @knewspeak could you try uploading the file again? You’ve been bumped

This is the recording of the Tracker Mini from Line Out to my sound card tracked in Ableton Live. It’s truncated and converted to m4a, truncated at the beginning as only one channel plays for a time.

Based on the crackling i’m hearing i would assume it’s either a broken cable or an actual hardware issue.

I’m assuming you’ve already tried with a different cable?

If so, you might want to contact customer support directly to get the repair/rma process started.

hey there @knewspeak, wanted to follow up on this issue and see if you had managed to contact the Support Channel that @Sandroid linked previously. Hope we can get this issue fixed

Checking in again @knewspeak hoping your issue has been resolved

Hi there @knewspeak. I’ve set this topic to close in 2 weeks if we don’t hear back. However, if ever after that point you come by and still have this issue, please feel free to write to me directly and I’ll open this back up.
Thanks!

Hi Dan,

I’m trying to arrange a replacement for the Tracker Mini with the store I purchased it from, due to the seasonal holiday this has taken longer than I expected, hopefully this will be resolved as swiftly as possible now.

Thanks.
