sometimes I’m thinking about getting OG Play once again, just to get hands-on midi sequencer for some simple stuff like drums, but then it crosses my mind that it doesn’t even response to program changes, so I won’t be able to do practically anything. Even though the expanded midi control was promised back in 2022:
and even though Polyend Step was released a year ago or so – with freaking external midi control that the original still lacks. basically the same thing, but limited and made to be controlled with feet. basically, I described the usage scanario in that email and it was implemented in a separate device.
The Play+ is an incredible device and I have a lot of fun with it.
Just asking for two gamechanger little (or big) things:
A standard USB File Transfer or a simple app/program to handle the samples (rename, move, erase, copy etc.) in an easy way.
A proper clip mode or song mode to finish songs and use it alive on stage. (Add colors to the clips/parts of the song, move it and delete it in a simple way, play it in different orders and repeat each one the times we want etc).
Nothing more, nothing less.

Play+ update is in the works, but I can’t predict when it will be ready. If I say “Beta by the end of the year,” it won’t be ready until January, but it is happening.
