What is the problem?
mixing is currently difficult on the Play, as you have a single filter per sample.
if you use this filter for sound design / creative use (say a low pass with resonance that you want to modulate per step) there is no way to clean up the low end as the filter is already being used.
the low end of the final mix can get very muddy very quickly.
What should this feature achieve?
having an additional high pass filter on every track (in the settings maybe) would allow the user to place certain samples on a specific track to clean up the mix, while also having the main multimode filter for sound design / creative use.
Are there any workarounds?
not really. using pre EQ-d samples. choosing very carefully.

TE OP-XY has an additional high pass filter on every track (in the settings). it makes a huge difference to the mix. it’s much easier to get a clean mix with this, while also having the main multimode filter for sound design / creative uses.
