Ability to record chords from incoming midi

What is the problem?

Usecase 1: I have many chords progressions from unfinished songs in my daw. I would like to be able to get these into Chord Packs.
Usecase 2: I would like to get chords I play on an external midi device into Chord Packs
Usecase 3: (less important to me) I would like to be able to play chords manually on the pads on the Polyend Synth, and record those into Chord Packs

In the current state I need to manually recreate these chords via the Chord Editor interface. This requires multiple actions per chord from me, and I think this current worklow is slow and could be more intuitive. Also I am unable to recreate some chords that have 2 or more than 3 notes (this can also be my lack of understanding of the interface).

What should this feature achieve?

Option to capture incoming midi into 1 chord of a chord pack (would be enough for me).

If you can think of a way to capture multiple chords at once, for example when you play a chord sequence from your daw, would be even better, but I’m happy with the the first basic option.

Some other things:

  • If the chord files on the SD card were plain text/readable/editable I wouldnt mind inputting the chords that way as long as the file structure isnt too complex.
  • Not sure how this works in the current firmware. I dont use the devices internal synths that much. I use the pads, sequencer and chord options to control VST’s in my daw. Synths in my daw have unlimited polyphony. The Polyend Synth should be able to output all notes to midi even if the number of notes used is higher than the internal available polyphony. I.e. I would like to be able to record chords that have more than 6 notes at once (or at least higher than 3) and the device should be able to output all those notes to midi if stored in a Chord Pack, for all 3 engines at once.
  • I think there is a market for a product like the Polyend Synth minus the internal synth engine, so only an affordable compact midi pad controller with aftertouch/pressure sensitivity, that can control max 3 midi channels at once, shows these max 3 channels in groups/areas on the grid, that outputs notes, sequences and chords, and with 8 midi mappable knobs.

Are there any workarounds?

Big thumbs up for this one! I also find the chord editor very unintuitive and would love for a way to input chords directly from external MIDI.
