9 Killer Features of the Polyend Tracker

Instead of talking about flaws or wishes, which is an endless discussion, let’s talk about why you specifically love the Polyend Tracker. Here’s my personal list of killer and important features of the Polyend Tracker. Perhaps you didn’t know about some of the features.

:sunglasses: 1. Modern and Convenient Form Factor: The first time I got my hands on the Polyend Tracker, its size seemed less convincing for professional equipment compared to the usual heavy, large workstations. How wrong I was! After experiencing Polyend, I no longer want to lug around huge metal boxes. It’s such a pleasure and convenience to have a compact, slim, and lightweight instrument.

:zap: 2. Smartphone Operation: You can simply connect your Tracker or Play to your smartphone. Yes, just your phone is enough to power up Polyend. How many products can boast about that? You don’t even need to carry a power bank.

:level_slider: 3. Built-in Audio Interface: What does this mean for you? You can record a Live Jam video with great sound by simply plugging a USB cable into your phone, turning on the camera, and recording directly with sound from Polyend. Isn’t it wonderful? No need to record sound separately, edit the video, or synchronize everything. You can even stream live with sound directly from Polyend without additional equipment. It’s incredibly convenient; one USB cable handles both power and sound, all within your phone. You can also work fully and record individual tracks on your iPad in Logic Pro or other DAWs.

:musical_keyboard: 4. Line-In Effects: Most external synthesizers don’t have built-in effects, but just connect your synthesizer to the Line In, and you instantly have high-quality Delay, Reverb, and other sound settings. These additional effects bring out the full potential of your synthesizer’s sound. For instance, I recently visited a music showroom for a new synthesizer. I took my Tracker with ready melodies and projects, easily connected synthesizers, tested them, and immediately experienced how Delay and Reverb sounded.

Moreover, I recorded videos simultaneously since the sound goes straight to the phone during video recording. Sure, some groove boxes can do this too, but they lack a large informative display, can’t power up from the phone, and much more.

:video_game: 5. Games: Although not a musical advantage, every time I show someone that I can run retro games on my workstation, it causes wild delight and amazement among observers. We have fun, play games, and socialize. It’s that cherry on top that we really love, adding brightness and joy to our lives and reminding us that anything is possible and we should go beyond the usual.

:computer: 6. Large Informative Display: I struggled to get used to the Tracker because I never created music in this format before and initially couldn’t understand how to work with it. But its appearance and the space-like data scrolling won me over, and I was determined to master it. The joy I felt when I finally understood how it all works was immense. Now, I can’t imagine working with other instruments without seeing a complete picture and the important nuances of each note. The only exception is Polyend Play, where all pads and layers are right before you to manage easily—a genius approach that is even faster and more convenient in some scenarios.

:sparkles: 7. Wonderful User Interface and Workflow: As a professional UX designer with over a decade in this field, I can confidently say that Polyend products are one of the best-designed devices. Incredibly convenient, logical, simple, modern tools. There’s always room for improvement, but what’s available now is a joy to use every time. Everything is in its place and works perfectly.

:file_folder: 8. Easy work with files
One of the standout features of Polyend’s gear, which sets it apart from other music hardware and software, is its straightforward file management system. By utilizing a flat SD card format, Polyend eliminates the need for complicated apps, internet connectivity, and constant update reminders that plague many devices today. This allows musicians to focus on creating music without the hassle of project managing file updates and transfers. It’s a refreshingly simple approach that Polyend fans hope never changes, as it keeps the creative process seamless and interruption-free.

:radio: 9. Radio recording.
This is also an amazing feature that provides access to free samples and creative enjoyment.

:hugs: What are your favorite features and how do you use them?

Why anyone would write this bizzare chatGPT style blog post for the tracker, in the tracker forum, is beyond me. Anyone who is here, probably already wants or owns one.

The Audio interface doesnt work for a lot of people, and I have seen repeatedly here and on reddit that while recording, the tracks or recorded at double speed, or simply dont record.

You can indeed run a handful, about 20-30, of the over 1500 NES games. I thought this was pretty cool til I actually tried to play one, then I realized that I have a broken emulator as well as a broken midi recording system

I like the User Interface.

As far as the files, I have noticed samples that I have loaded mysteriously disappear from projects.

I just wanted to highlight this line the most

I would like to know how to record things directly on the phone with android. Al least with play+ I can’t do it.

CHATGPT is not involved here. English is not my native language, so some of my thoughts might remain unclear. I wrote all the text myself.

thats wild if true

I think it’s just a matter of translation nuances. There’s no need to see ChatGPT everywhere just because you come across complex sentences that you find difficult to understand.

What did I mean to say? Let me put it simply. There’s a phrase “the cherry on top” which means something special. Adding a game is that “something special.” Incorporating games into a serious musical instrument is an unconventional and bold decision. It’s precisely these kinds of unconventional and bold decisions that make us smile and feel joyful like children. These actions encourage us to think “outside the box.” Does that make it clearer?

What difficulties are you experiencing? In the video above, I showed how it works.

  1. Simply connect the Polyend+ to your phone via USB.
  2. Open the camera and start recording.

What kind of phone do you have?

Hey cjclip,

Alright, I owe you an apology – I jumped to conclusions on that blogpost and shouldn’t have thrown out accusations like that. If I was wrong, my bad! Maybe it’s just my over-analytical mind going into overdrive – or maybe I’m just sensitive to the slight whiff of algorithmic prose. But let’s drop it.

And wow, yeah, you hit the nail on the head with the NES emulators on the Polyend. There’s something so viscerally… joyful about it, you know? Like we’re not just pressing buttons and playing games – it’s a portal, a reversion to pure, innocent, mind-melting joy. Just kids again, glued to those blocky graphics and scratchy 8-bit sounds, reliving a kind of primal wonder. Almost too much happiness to process, really.

Honestly, it’s impressive how deeply you’ve managed to get in touch with your inner child using a hardware tracker. It’s like you’ve tapped into some mystical, candy-coated realm of innocence. I imagine you on a whimsical journey, like a hero in Candy Land, wandering through sweet, colorful forests and marshmallow meadows, all with your Polyend in hand – a modern-day bard, composing tunes on this magical machine as you go. You’ve turned tracking into something like… a pure, joyful expedition, uncovering forgotten realms of wonder and simplicity.

May we all follow you there, with sugar-dusted hearts and pixelated dreams. :candy:

 Hahaha, beautiful prose, that’s exactly what I wanted to say, but you did it better than I could :unicorn:

That’s why I pointed out that the game is not about musical functionality; it’s about the emotional trigger. And it’s wonderful to realize that, besides music, the Tracker has something pleasant and exciting from childhood.

Xiaomi 10 android. It doesn’t work. I admit that I’ve tried only one time and didn’t work with play+ so I gave up and thought that it was that it only worked on android. I need to see your video and give it another try. Is a killer feature.

I am too in a whimsical trip with my polyend devices. They are way ahead of most hardware devices I’ve tried.

I have tried it on Huawei, Samsung, and it also works on the new iPhones. Unfortunately, I can’t advise you on what might be wrong with Xiaomi. But if the Polyend works when connected, that’s a good sign. Next, try different apps and settings – you might find what you’re looking for, and everything might start working.

Making a database with compatible games is a fun and great idea.

So I need to try a different camera app? I need to investigate that. Thank you.

Or ask somebody to try with him phone also

What started as a fun post was quickly derailed. Thanks.

Maybe you can make your own post with a bug report?

I don’t think this can be classified as a bug. Polyend cannot be responsible for compatibility with all the phones in the world and their various models. Having experience in Android software development, I can confirm that Android is one big bug in itself, especially the Chinese versions. :see_no_evil:

Sorry, I’ll stop posting in this thread.

Which games have you tested?
