Not my experience at all (granted, I only had it for 2 weeks).
Not my experience as a day one owner either. It IS horrible in direct sunlight. I would pay extra for an e-ink version.
Polyend has said repeatedly that the only change is the body of the device. The internals will remain the same.
I absolutely love that screen. I use it everyday in my mini. Is good for my eyes, not like the screen of the cellphone. Very confortable, when there is light into for the stronger setting and I can read it perfect.
Absolutely, that would be the real anniversary announcement here.
this is absolutely true. the viewing throws are totally off.
Agreed, the screen lacks an intensity that is less abrasive to the eye, and the battery. However, it’s not a PO screen and unfortunately does eat up battery when left idle. Still no screen sleep it seems…
ahahah. it’s an amazing device whatever the look though. enjoy the music. I take it everywhere.
My personal love child is a mini with a jog wheel on the right side. It’s all I would ever need from a portable Mini.
That’s a really nice design and good evolution of the Mini design. I hope this also means a lot of the software feature requests get implemented with at least some (most?) being backported to the Mini v1, as long as there isn’t some obvious limitation like CPU constraint. I’ve been playing around with other trackers (both computer and handheld) and I feel like the Tracker line is missing some really simple, but powerful, features (eg, more than just two FX lanes, FX slide/glide, more LFO options, etc.) Although my favorite part of the Tracker line vs the others is the workflow and UX is vastly superior.
Wrote this on reddit too, at this point I believe that this is just foreshadowing a Tracker Mini+ with an actual jog wheel in six months.
a trackpad on the back like a psvita would be absolutely awesome for handling
Completely different experience - I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how it deals with glare. Actually, the screen would have been one of the first things I’d have commented on as a strength of the device.
And also the viewing angle thing - I’d never noticed that it’s not great looking at it straight on, but yup that’s correct. Mainly because I never look at it straight on, it would feel really weird to hold it vertically like that.
But it’s great holding it “normally” like a phone or tablet, i.e. with a 30 degree-ish angle, which I think is the correct optimisation for most uses of a hand-held device. It would be far more horrific if the straight on 90 degree was treated as the default. Everyone’s different, but I really can’t see how the ergonomics of a straight on viewing angle would ever work in reality.
No, we fired all our Illuminati members so there is no Tracker Mini Plus conspiracy ![]()
After having tracker mini and play the only thing I can say is that Polyend knows how to design products and workflows. These are one of the best workflows that I’ve seen on musical devices.
At the beginning I wasn’t interested in mini but now is my favourite machine to make music. As I said before, the screen is one of the best things on the mini. Size, workflow, perfect even for me with small hands.
Sounds suspiciously like something an Illuminati member would say… ![]()
Annunakis. Lizard people. They are rewiring your brain with phantom midi notes through the headphones. “You don’t need a jogwheeeeel…”
This is all 5d chess… I think we are going to need a separate conspiracy theory thread.
Funny but untrustworthy coming from Polyend.
…so, any idea when will the “metal” Tracker Mini be available and how much it will cost? ![]()

then let me be more direct instead of joking - No this is not forshadowing a T Mini+. The Tracker Mini IS the Tracker+ in another form factor. And I don’t appreciate the implication that I am untrustworthy, as I don’t think anything I’ve communicaterd on this forum is false - although my estimates for firmware ETAs have sometimes been off, this is why a lot of companies dont even give ETAs, anything we said would be done - does get done.
