Power supply via usb is a hindrance.
It was a problem for TE in the OP1 so they allowed an off button for charging whilst using as an interface. That is not available for the tracker, but might work for the mini.
I can confirm that it works smoothly on the Mini. I can record my jams directly while filming with my phone(IOS+CCK).
But I have to use the small CCK without the power supply. When using the Mini while powering it over the big CCK I get a lot of interferences and crackles. Same behaviour as with the MC101 from Roland. It will only work if the device runs on batteries or has a specific off mode for charging when using as an audio interface or if it has a separate power supply like the devices from Elektron. All these specs are actually missing for the Tracker+/Play+. This was also the reason why I bought the Mini back and not went with the Tracker +.
i just want to chime in here as i also like to record directly into my phone with device audio… when plugging in the mini, my phone says “High power USB device connected. Cannot access this device. Connected device needs external power supply”
presumably, it is trying to pull power from the USB-C to USB-C cable connecting my phone to the Mini to charge its battery.
If there was a way to disable charging under certain circumstances, it would enable android devices to use the Mini as an audio device.
obviously, this could result in some issues with maybe people being unable to charge their device, but i feel like there should be a way to prevent that from happening, yeah?
I was able to record audio through USB into my phone from Play+, but weird things happen. Stereo image is distorted. Kick is panned hard right etc.
