I like to use the random note feature in the sequencer in combination with the project note scale feature to create randomised sequences of notes that are automatically nicely locked in tune with each other. (The Chance feature also works well with this to add a bit more randomisation). I like how this sounds with the ‘Yo’ scale a lot, but what I’d really like is the addition of a fictional scale that is just all the black keys. I’ve described this as fictional as my partner says what I’m describing isn’t a scale…
As an outsider musician I often make music using just the black keys (cos they always sound good together) and it would be great if I could do this with the Tracker Mini’s random note and project note scale functions, which lock you into whatever notes are in the scale you choose.
Good news for you; Use the Major Pentatonic scale and set your root note to F# and you’ll be good to go. Alternately you can use the Minor Pentatonic scale with a D# root
