Synth - Show MIDI Notes and Velocity on Pads for Polyend Synth

What is the problem?

Currently, the Polyend Synth appears static when receiving MIDI input from external gear. Unlike when users interact with the pads directly, there’s no visual indication of incoming MIDI activity. This lack of feedback makes it harder to monitor what the synth is doing in real-time and detracts from the intuitive, performance-friendly experience.

What should this feature achieve?

  1. Light up the pads to correspond with incoming MIDI notes and velocities.

  2. Use the appropriate MIDI channel for correct synth visualisation, ensuring the pads reflect what is being played externally.

  3. Provide an engaging, visually responsive interface that aligns with the tactile feedback users expect when using the Synth’s pads live.

This feature would enable the Polyend Synth to visually display incoming MIDI notes and their velocity on the pads, offering dynamic feedback for users playing the synth via external gear. Similar to how the pads light up when played live, this enhancement would allow users to see the synth’s activity, making it more engaging and informative during live performances or studio sessions.

Are there any workarounds?

here is an experiment connecting the synth to a unity visualization, Showing sorting algorithms to make music. the sound is coming from the synth, however is static and is difficult to see the connection to external gear. It would be nice to build the Audio/Visual connection between the two
