# Synth 1.1.0 Public Beta Firmware #3

Synth 1.1 Beta #3 introduces a fix to an issue in 1.1 Beta #1 and 2 that causes scales to load incorrectly when all 3 synths are set to note. This is the potential final release firmware for Synth 1.1.

**Fixes**

- Grid Scale doesn’t recall correctly when loading a scene which has all instruments in Note Mode

> ⚠ Beware that beta releases might introduce new bugs that may lead to loss of work, data corruption, performance degradation, or crashes. We recommend backing up your SD card before trying the beta.

If you run into any issues please share them with us by logging a #Beta Bug in Backstage.
Thank you.

### INSTALLATION GUIDE

Synth Firmware: [Synth\_v1.1.0.1620beta.psf.zip](https://backstage.polyend.com/uploads/short-url/j7yH5Fz5wppoQ8I7hpbu3ItkFR8.zip) (1.9 MB)

1. Download and extract the firmware above
2. Copy the `.psf` firmware file to your Synth SD card → Firmware folder
3. Best Practice: save your current scene to avoid any potential data loss
4. On the Synth menu navigate to Main Menu → System Settings → Firmware → Update Firmware → `.psf` file
5. Click the encoder and confirm with Yes
6. After the update create a new scene to initialize the config settings

I don’t know if fluke or not, but I took out my sd card from the polyend synth, put it in computer and put the new firmware on it and put it back in synth and suddenly it wouldn’t recognize it… Put it back in computer and computer telling me to reformat it wtf. So i rebooted computer and retried and same thing. So i reformatted it and lucky I had my sd content saved on computer from 2 weeks ago, so put that back on the sd card and back in synth and worked fine…

That is also why it is not super great that Tracker cannot delete its own content and you need to push out the sd Card and bring into another Environment……

I just enter usb storage mode in the Synth. Never take the card out. My Synth is powered by my Elektron Overhub so that I can use it for mid as well.
