Play+ | Synth | Tracker+ - best use of these devices in combination?

Ok - it’s all in the title really! At the moment I’m plugging The Play+ into the In of a Midi Thru Box and sequencing notes on the Synth (plugged into a Thru on the Midi Thru Box) on some MIDI tracks of the Play+. I’ve set the MIDI on both machines so that any sequences or arps on the Synth are syncing with the Play+ clock. Usual stuff.

As for the Tracker+ (also plugged into a Thru on the Midi Thru Box) I’m simply syncing that with the clock of the Play+ so that it starts and stops with it and runs in sync.

So what do we think? Is this the best way round to use these three devices or am I missing something? Maybe I would be best using the Tracker+ as the master but how would I sequence notes on the Play+ with that scenario?

One thing, the engine set to play Chord Packs on the Synth will only play single notes when triggered by single notes on the Play+ so I’m guessing this must be something that only works internally on the Synth.

Last week I had a Synth engine set to “Note” playing chords via the MIDI Chord function on the Tracker but obviously that was with the Tracker as the master.

Sorry - it’s a bit of a brain burner!!

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions

I ran midi directly from play + to tracker + and from tracker to Synth for syncing purposes. For me, each is capable to play or program. The audio needs an audio interface in order to hear all three. And if you have an aux out, send to tracker to record audio from play or synth.

Experiment as you’ve been doing to find fun ways to have fun as best is always subjective
