Indication to know whether a pattern is playing alone or in a chain

What is the problem?

In Pattern mode on the Play, there is no way to see whether a pattern is being played alone (simple play) or chained (shift play).

What do you want to achieve?

An indication on the display or the pads showing whether a pattern is playing alone or chained.

Are there any workarounds?

Remember whether you have pressed Play or Shift+Play.

The manual explains how Pattern Mode works in detail. By default, patterns are not chained. Pressing Play will loop only the pattern currently selected. If you have two or more patterns in a row, then you can optionally chain them by pressing Shift+Play. That’s it.

@77pask your wish is about having a visual cue telling the user whether the patterns are playing with chaining or not, right? You mention that the indication could be in the display but, just to leave the options open, maybe it could also be a special lighting on the pads themselves.

Yes, visual on display or special lighting on the pads.

Workaround: you can press Shift and see which mode you’re in on the Play button

Thank you @miropoly, I hadn’t noticed this important detail.

@77pask in that case, the problem stated has a simple solution: while the pattern is playing, press Shift and you will see whether it is playing a single pattern or a loop, based on the label in the screen.

Does this work for you?

yes this I had noticed, thanks
