Hi. Out of the many pallettes available generally, which ones can be used for the ‘Step’ specifically, or can ANY ‘technically’ be used and assigned to the pedal (via SD card)? Also, am I limited only by the SD card limit, or can many palletes be purchased/stored/uploaded (potentially) if I got one with a large storage capacity say, or will the Step only upload a certain amount? Thank you
Packs with Step kits pre-organized will be listed on the Palette’s page. For example, Greystate lists “10 step kits” in the description so you can count on it having step kits, while Estrella Camino doesn’t list step kits.
There is a limit on the number of Step kits that can be loaded, probably 256. I’m not sure if you would hit that limit on 256 kit folders or if the subfolder (1-10) would count toward this number. I’ll have to check and get back to you.

Thank you Mitch for getting back to me on this. So, according to your message, it seems the only compatible palletes form the ‘Step’ that will work at the moment from your site (and the drop down menu) are;
*Birch
*Maelstom
*Vast Forms
*Raw analogue
Is that correct? I guess the Estrella Camina palletes are still an ‘unknown’ then.
Out of interest and in my research, I see that in a previous discussion post that someone has added ‘Festival’ (world percussion pallette), previously too however, altho that one also doesn’t say ‘Step Kits as described’ in the description, so am still a little confused unfortunately and curios as how this was done/used/acgieved otherwise and/or if that means a workaround was found, as surely means others can also be used (if so?). I’m only really trying to identify as many pallettes as possible that I could potentially use to maximise and opon up as many sound capabilities as possible for the Step, since I’m otherwise enjoying using it, despite its limitations and shortcomings in some areas and do like it’s form factor as a guitarist.
Also, that’s great to know about the capacity (pending further confirmation then, thank you:) as I would want to expand the machine for more versatility for different styles ideally, as my music is spreads across different genres and being able to store lots on an SD card/machine itself would obviously be hugely beneficial as opposed to having to use a computer every time. You can technically load any palette, you would just have to organize folders for it. I made a template for populating empty folders on I shared on this thread - Step: Can it load and use samples from the Polyend Palettes?
There are a few others besides those that specifically have Step folders built in, but any can be used. We’ll double check and update the Step folder list.

Thanks Mitch. Yes, a full and fully comprehensive up-to-date list of available palletes to suit the ‘Step’ specifically would be great if obtainable from the drop-down menu, as clearly there are many more than simply the x4 listed and very time consuming to locate otherwise (at least not without clicking into every pallette individually to check on each individual listing).
Out of interest, are the demos a composite of the step kits also, or more the tracker soundscapes, since it’s hard to know and worry I’ll be buying palletes based on sounds I (potentiality) can’t upload onto the Step?
