Hi Folks, ive only recently discovered trackers and love my mini…its incredible…i have a busy family life so it just WORKS for me! Thanks to everyone posting videos its got me going super quick 😊🙏
I have one question which is only thing bugging me…i only use onboard synths realy so
Track 1: PERC
Track 2: S2
Track 3: S3

Is there any way to run different patches on synths per pattern basis.
So pattern one would have Track 2 : WTFM patch 1.
Pattern 2 would have Track 2: WTFM patch 2 ?

If not any hacks or work arounds ?
Cheers Rob

Hey @w_o_d_w_o

Sadly no. There have been wishes for this as well that sadly were declined:

> [@Step FX for Synth patch change](https://backstage.polyend.com/t/step-fx-for-synth-patch-change/12949):
>
> It would be awesome if there was a step fx to change the loaded patch for a synth slot. What is the problem? Currently you are limited to 3 synth patches for the 3 available synth slots (per song). What should this feature achieve? The ability to change the synth patches by pattern or even during the pattern, in order to have more synth sounds available per song. Are there any workarounds? Manually change the actively loaded patch during playback. Any links to related discussions? N/A Any r…

Similar happened for the Play+ Synths:

> [@Synth patch per step or per pattern](https://backstage.polyend.com/t/synth-patch-per-step-or-per-pattern/7392):
>
> Being able to have more than 3 synth patches per project would be really good. Either being able to change patch per step, or select a new patch per pattern, what ever is technically possible. What is the problem? only having 3 synth patches per project is quite limiting What do you want to achieve? to be able to change synth patch per step. if per step is not technically possible, perhaps being able to change patch per pattern, or having a pool of synth patches you could switch between with…

As workarounds goes, the only one i’ve noticed is that if there is enough time between patches, you could change them manually in the synth preset/patch selection screen.

Another workaround is to export some of the synths you need to an audio file and use it on a regular sample track. Either a single note you can sequence or a full pattern, depending on what works best in each case.

Could you use single cycle waveforms ? Is there a loop sample option to create basically an oscillator….not explored the sample side much so will have a look!

And definitely don’t sleep on what @3xm proposed! 💪
You can get pretty darn far by rendering synth to sample!

You can check out some of the project files i’ve made [here](https://backstage.polyend.com/t/sandroid-tracker-mini-2-0-projects/11832).
All of them were made exclusively on the device just with the synths.

Owww, this desert echo track is sooo nice, I love it! And thank you so much for sharing the project as well! 😍

I want also to mention that you can achieve much of sound diversity between patterns through clever use of macros. For instance, you can turn short plucky synth sound into long pads with just two macros assigned to control attack and decay/release or even with just one macro assigned to both attack and decay.
There are six macros in total, each can control up to five parameters, so it’s up to 30 controllable parametetrs in total.
