Help understanding Midi Thru

I have midi out from the Tracker going to midi in on a Digitone which works perfectly. I’m wondering if I can connect a midi keyboard going to Tracker midi in and in turn send notes to the Digitone. Thanks in advance.

So tldr; its a midi out, not proper midi thru.
Get a midi thru box.
