MESS - Switching Presets is "jumpy"

Anyone else experiencing extreme jumpiness when scrolling up and down MESS presets?

I have to turn the preset knob very very slowly, or it will jump 30 to 50 presets at a time. The behavior is very unpredictable. It’s as if this part of the pedal goes dormant, and it takes a moment for it to apply resources to this task (scrolling presets).

I’ve only experienced some slow reaction time while changing presets, but never jumping around more than a few presets above or below the one I’m trying to get to. I wish changing presets was faster and more accurate, but I do love it enough to accept that minor quirk. I only hope Polyend will add randomization to all effects parameters someday.

Absolutely - the MESS is totally unique and wonderful. It’s a minor bother and means I turn from preset to preset sloooowly.

BTW, @Subtronic. was jamming at home last night along with a Polyend Synth Scene from you.

I think the encoder is designed to do this on purpose. I see what you mean though. Personally I’d rather have the option to scroll through the 999 presets more quickly than not and then just have to be a little mindful about going in between presets closer in proximity.

Yes - agreed. There is a cool design-choice to jump across large numbers of presets.
But as what I’ve experiencing is totally unpredictable as far as I’ve been able to ascertain, what’s I’m noticing feels more like a “bug” than a “feature”.

Is this happening for anyone else?

It can’t be a bug since you’re the only Mess owner experiencing it. If it’s a new unit return it for a replacement.
