Love it so far with some wishes

oh noes! my tracker freezes when i turn it on. i deleted the ‘workspace’ folder as suggested but it only loads a blank project as far as i can tell. whats up? what should i do?

Uh oh!

The workspace folder contains your currently active/loaded project.
If you delete that, it means you loose whatever you were working on… unless you (re-)saved it as a project. The tracker will then create a new workspace folder, which obviously will be empty.

Think of it as temporary, written-to-disk project folder that has not been actively saved as a personal project.

Did deleting it, solve the freezes though? If not, best is to remove the card and backup it’s content and try to format the card.

deleting didnt help. backing up and formatting

ok that did nothing. i am only able to spin the data wheel and i can scroll to the edge of the pattern but not loop around, and none of the buttons respond no matter what i do.

That sounds odd. Here some other suggestions:

  • Did you try and reflash the firmware (or even go back one firmware version and see if everything works as intended there)?
  • Also, after flashing - it’s always a good idea to create a new project to reinitialize everything properly.
  • How are you powering the Unit? Have you tried a different powersource to see if that makes a difference?

Let us know how that goes. And maybe something you’ll report might spark another idea.
Else it might be time to get into contact with customer support.

hum. the usb power adapter change did it! ok nice to know! thanks aaaand were back!

boy a 1.3mm wrench is turning out to be a pain, all the way across town is the only place, after going to two places already and all multi-wrenches begin at 1.5mm on up. yay.

Changing encoders are ya?

yup.

the repair kit is in, and my data knob is SOLID! thanks to polyend for the kit. it was easy and now it feels like it will never fail.

i have already recommended tracker to around 8 or 9 people, and at least one will buy it. used of course. times are tough. maybe not at polyend tho!
