I think the Clean looks very fun! For 2 stereo compressors with sidechain I think they couldn’t be more different.
Hello everyone! I just received the Press and I’m thrilled. I didn’t even expect it to be this good. It looks stunning and feels very premium. No video or photo can convey these sensations. I liked it so much that I even set aside my new Polyend Synth to explore the Press.
I also tested the sound, and it’s amazing.
I highly recommend this compressor for drums or mixing. Super clean and crispy sound Really helpful instrument for step to next level in your music journey.
The only thing I don’t like is the “pedal” format. I never plan to put it on the floor and press buttons with my feet.
I would absolutely love to buy a desktop version designed for USB connection and the ability to connect a 3.5 jack.
I’m sharing some photos I took.
Neat
Going to do some research on this as I’ve written this off thinking I don’t need this as someone who just noodles. Will watch the videos provided to see if there is a use case. I’ve been skimping by on using iPad apps but I was a bit arrogant thinking that was the way because I was working with what I have. It still might not be for me but I need to find out instead of casting it off.
Really Good sound of drums you can make only with compressor. If you go to hardware music, its perfect for start. Much better than Analog Heat Fx for me. Also its really good for some “mastering” and glue all your instruments, if you love to make some live jam and improvisation, like me
I always wished that the Analog Head +FX had an insert point that you could add to the effect chain and choose where it goes. Would so love to bypass the compressor and bring the Press into it!!
I don’t like analog heat, press is much better with clean and bright sound. Better companion for Press is TECH 21 SANSAMP PARA DRIVER DI V2. With good EQ.
Oh I’m very happy with the Analog Heat. It’s just that the Press kills the AH built in compressor in every possible way.
I have plenty of Pre-Amps and Dirt boxes including the OG SansAmp. Great stuff!
I just bought the SansAmp Para Driver DI today, tried various pedals, and I immediately liked this one. Unfortunately, it’s mono, and there are some nuances in its use, but it’s very similar to the Analog Heat.
Do you have any suggestions on how to enhance the Main Mix in the Press chain?
Ok, Press is brilliant , now i need stereo EQ, and Bass Saturator. Not sure about delay and reverb, because ton of this in the shops
Would appreciate if you could elaborate. Main mix in regards to what signal chain? What are your ear listening for in terms of enhancement?
Compression is a wild beast. Curious as to what beast you are trying to tame
Oh wow. I love the form factor in that EQ. GFI makes very nice things.
Hi there,
I bought a Press a couple months ago and I’m just now getting around to integrating it into my setup. However, I’m having some trouble with it. I’m able to pass a signal through but when I hit the on switch, the level meter lights up (except for -20 and -30) but does not affect the audio. The LED above the ‘on’ switch also does not light up.
Adjusting the makeup gain or any other knobs doesn’t seem to do anything. The level meter does not change no matter how loud the incoming signal is.
It’s just been sitting in a box til now, so I’m not sure what the deal is.
Any help from someone at Polyend? @Mitch ?
For support best bet is emailing support@polyend.com as we don’t have any tracking method for support here.
However it sounds like what happens when the pedal is underpowered - What power supply are you using? If you are using a power supply with 100mA connectors then it won’t be enough, the Press needs at least 350mA of power.
Thank you! I opened a ticket with them, but the power was the issue. It’s working now.
Good to hear it is working, thanks!
